Taco Meat

Taco Tuesday starter kit! I LOVE just basic taco meat with some cheese melted in. Seriously heaven. I use this recipe to make tacos, my Crunchwrap recipe, enchiladas, taco salad and more. The possibilities are truly endless. This seasoning mix is great to have on hand. It is way healthier than most taco seasoning packets and it is way cheaper once you buy all the spices.

I am also sharing my fajita veggie recipe which is so freaking delicious. I prepped these veggies last week and used them in tacos, quesadillas, an egg scramble and just to snack on. They are so flavorful and are amazing for meal prep. Now you are set for Taco Tuesday! Enjoy!

SERVES: 4 servings

Ingredients

Taco Meat:

1 lb grass fed ground beef
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/3 cup shredded Mexican cheese
Optional:
1/3 cup water
1 tsp tapioca flour or corn starch or 1 tbsp regular flour

Instructions

Taco Meat:

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once it’s hot, add in your ground beef. Break it up with a wooden spoon as it browns.
Once the meat is almost fully browned, add in seasonings. If you like more “saucy” beef, add in a slurry of flour + water and let it simmer on low heat until the liquid dissolved (6-8 minutes).
Remove the beef from the heat and immediately stir in the shredded cheese.
Serve with tortillas, in enchiladas, in my Crunchwrap recipe, the possibilities are endless!
