Baked Turkey Meatballs & Red Sauce

Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey
1/3 cup Panko breadcrumbs almond flour also works!
1 egg beaten
2 cloves garlic finely minced
1/4 yellow onion finely minced
2 tbsp fresh basil chopped
2 tbsp grated Parmesan omit for dairy free
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp Calabrian chilies or red pepper flakes optional
Kosher salt & pepper
1 24 oz jar of red sauce I use Rao’s

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl (except olive oil and red sauce). I use my hands for this! Roll into balls. I made about 16.
Add them to a parchment lined or nonstick sheet pan, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
Next, add the sauce and all the meatballs to a baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until meatballs are fully cooked.
Top with fresh basil and more Parmesan cheese. Serve with spaghetti, sautéd veggies or in a sandwich.
